Welcome to The Commodore Hotel

A Very Warm Welcome to The Commodore Hotel

The Commodore Hotel is ideally situated on the cliff tops at Southbourne adjacent to the cliff lifts and Fisherman's Walk. The spectacular views across Poole bay take in Swanage to the West and Hengistbury Head and the Isle of Wight to the East. It's location, close to the New Forest, and Bournemouth town centre, makes it an ideal base from which to explore Hampshire and Dorset.

The Commodore was built in 1928 and was originally called Crawford’s Tea Rooms. In the war it was used to house serving American airmen. In the early 50’s an extension was added and it became Crawford’s Bar and Hotel. Not long after that, it became The Commodore Hotel.

Dine in our attractive Lounge Bar with panoramic sea views where great value food is available daily or simply relax and have a drink from our superb range of real ales, wines and spirits.

Each of our 9 en-suite bedrooms are comfortably furnished, most with a sea view. All bedrooms were newly refurbished to a high standard in Spring 2007.

We have a function room available for private hire, whatever the occasion, from business meetings to a birthday celebration, which can cater for up to 40 people.

Whatever the reason for your visit or stay at The Commodore Hotel, you can rest assured that you will be well looked after as we provide our guests with the highest of standards in hospitality and for this reason we are popular with locals, business people and visitors alike.
